This was one of my first sculpture in the early eighties. 22 inches tall mounted on teak, the high relief of the god Shiva was sculpted in Terracotta and fired at cone 5. The purpose was to demonstrate the use of thick and thin masses of clay, sculpting techniques and an understanding in religious art: translating styles of interpretation to represent aspects of deity both true to the original concepts of the culture and add my own style to the piece.
